*Early Childcare Associate*

Accountability Objective*
The Early Childcare Associate will aid the Early Childcare Facilitator in developing and maintaining a working childcare facility at Buckeye Hills Career Center.
He/she will supervise the Childcare Assistants and help direct the activities, instruction, meals, cleanliness, supervision and other appropriate services as laid out by the program and the Early Childcare Facilitator.

Nature of Position*
The Early Childcare Associate duties shall assist and support learning experiences for students as directed by the Facilitator while ensuring a safe and legal childcare service.
*C.
Authority - Responsibility*
The Early Childcare Associate is supervised directly by the Early Childcare Facilitator.
The Associate is a postsecondary employee and must meet postsecondary staff requirements as directed by the District.
*D.
Principal Duties (Essential)*
1.
Create and implement comprehensive curriculum to address the needs of the children.
2.
Instill a sense of order and discipline in the classroom.
3.
Creatively plan to make the classroom fun and inviting.
4.
Engage in creative methods of learning, crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.
5.
Attend staff meetings and complete training as determined by the Childcare Facilitator.
6.
Be available to consult on program planning and parent conferences.
7.
Work with Facilitator on program planning, goal setting and implementation, planning for individual children, and to discuss program and working conditions.
8.
Direct the Early Childcare Assistants on how to support each child's social, emotional and intellectual growth and development.
9.
Support children with special or individual needs
10.
Support positive and productive relationships with families
11.
Supervise the classroom.
12.
Plan for and oversee meals, toileting, and hand washing.
13.
Participate and complete required ongoing training as determined by the Early Childcare Facilitator.
14.
Timely completion and submission of required documentation and paperwork as related to the position and as determined by the Early Childcare Facilitator, the Dean of Postsecondary Education, and the Central office.
15.
Performs other duties necessary to the smooth functioning of the facility as assigned by the Early Childcare Facilitator, the Dean of Postsecondary Education, and the Superintendent.
*E.
Principal Duties (Non-Essential)*
1.
Maintain an orderly work area.
2.
Work cooperatively and respectfully with all members of the administrative, certified and classified staff.
3.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere that promotes collaborative professional relationships.
4.
Participate as a “Step-Up to Quality” provider.
*F.
Qualifications*
1.
CDA, Associates, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
2.
First Aid, CPR in infant child pediatric, and adult.
3.
Child Abuse training.
4.
Communicable Disease training.
5.
On the job training recommended.
6.
OCCRA account pathway CPL level 3, prefer a CPL level 4.
7.
Computer skills.
8.
How to prepare a lesson plan and educate children about fundamental concepts, colors, numbers, and shapes.
9.
Excellent communication skills.
10.
Must meet State Requirements, Background check.
