Assistant Professor- Biochemistry/Forensic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Marshall University seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in any area of biochemistry or forensic chemistry starting in the Fall 2024 semester.

, postdoctoral or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.

The Department expects development of an original, high-quality research program that engages undergraduate and master’s students from inception to dissemination.
We seek candidates enthusiastic about incorporating research into their teaching.
Teaching will be in the area of expertise and in first-year chemistry courses and may include a graduate-level biochemistry course geared towards forensic science master’s students.
The Department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum, with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance student’s critical thinking and the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
Applicants must submit a current curriculum vitae, statement of research plans, undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial okay), and a teaching philosophy.
