The Child Development Academy is seeking a qualified individual for a teaching position.
The lead teacher position requires a B.
A.
degree or greater in the field of early childhood education or a related field according to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The duties of the lead teacher would include but not limited to:
1.
Provide and be accountable for a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.
2.
Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans weekly.
3.
Constantly assess every child’s individual needs, development, and differences.
4.
Maintain appropriate paperwork/requirements/documentation for Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), WV licensing regulations, Cabell-Huntington Health Department, and NAEYC.
5.
Supervise assistant teacher, work-study students, graduate assistant students, Marshall Students participating in classes at our facility and substitutes.
6.
Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
The assistant teacher position requires at the least a high school diploma/GED and actively working towards a degree in the field of early childhood education or a related field according to NAEYC.
The duties of the lead teacher would include but not limited to:
1.
Assist in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.
2.
Maintain appropriate requirements/documentation for WV licensing regulations, Cabell-Huntington Health Department and NAEYC.
3.
Assist in implementing lesson plans.
4.
Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
5.
Take direction from Lead Teacher.

Qualifications as defined by NAEYC Early Learning Program Accreditation
Standards.
Experience
Other relevant experience and academic qualifications considered.
Organizational skills and strong knowledge of Academy policies and procedures desired.
Must be able to read and comprehend calculation and measure, plan and supervise, as well as compile and communicate.

Professional must possess organizational skills; strong knowledge of Academy policies and procedures desired.
Interpersonal must mentor staff in the implantation of home visiting and flexibility programs.
Must be dedicated to pursuing professional development in the field of ECE.
