Provide academic services to include, but not limited to, academic advising, career advising and academic monitoring to student-athletes who compete at the NCAA Division I level.
Provide guidance and keep accurate records to insure academic success and athletic eligibility.
Specific duties will include:
Responsible for the academic success of student athletes in multiple sports.
Monitor at-risk students weekly, do grade checks, monitor completion and submission of assignments.
Ensure student-athletes meet NCAA eligibility requirements, track progress-toward-degree percentages, semester hour requirements, and GPA requirements.
Schedule and monitor study hall sessions and ensure NCAA rules are being followed.
Meet with coaching staffs to discuss academic progress of at-risk- students.
Work with students with learning disabilities as well as coordinate psychoeducational testing and disability accommodations.
Schedule tutoring for all student athletes in multiple sports and make daily adjustments as needed.
Council student with D/F midterm grades as to dropping classes while still maintaining athletic eligibility.
Prepare weekly reports for coaching staffs as to student progress,
Track study hall hours for students who have mandatory hours and notify coaches of tutoring and/or study hall no shows.
Register all students each semester for classes, process travel letters, submit documentation for university excused absences, and occasionally travel with teams to conduct study hall.
Recruit, hire, train and supervise all tutoring operations for the Buck Harless Student-Athlete program (roughly 50-60 tutors).
Add all tutors and their availability to Retain/TeamWorks, develop training materials, and ensure NCAA rules are enforced.
Process PAR’s and approve Time Clock Plus for all hourly personnel.
Provide end-of-semester and end-of-year statistical information to the Assistant AD of Academics.
Update BHSAP recruiting materials and maintain a supply of materials from on-campus colleges.
Assist the Director in training new hires, reports and special projects.
Manage BHSAP purchase card, maintain inventory of center equipment and supplies in addition to preparing purchase requests when needed.
Purchase material for scholarship student-athletes in accordance with Sunbelt and NCAA guidelines.

Required Qualifications
Education
Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Sports Administration, or related field of study.
Experience
Over one year of experience working with student-athletes or equivalent experience.
Good written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to work flexible hours.

Former student athlete with experience and/or involvement in student athlete counseling programs.
Understanding and experience with student athletes’ schedules, knowledge of NCAA regulations, time commitment demands, etc.
