Holy Family School Montessori Preschool Teacher Assistant Responsibilities 1.
The main responsibility of a teaching assistant is to help facilitate learning by directly working with the children.
In the classroom, an assistant will work with students individually or in small groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
During whole-class activities that are led by the teacher, the presence of the assistant beside or behind the group usually helps both the attention and behavior of the children.

The teaching assistant will help supervise students both in the classroom and in other areas of the school (hallway, restroom, lunchroom, playground, church, etc.
).
3.
The teaching assistant will accompany and help supervise the class on field trips.
4.
The teaching assistant will help supervise children upon arrival and dismissal.
5.
The teaching assistant will accompany the class to and from special classes, (Music and P.
E.
) and remain with the group during the class period to provide supervision and to assist the special’s teacher as needed.
6.
The teaching assistant will help with the preparation of the classroom materials and activities.
7.
Due to confidentiality issues, the teaching assistant will direct parents with questions about student achievement and/or behavior to the classroom teacher.
8.
The teaching assistant will help the classroom teacher with daily tasks such as recording attendance and obtaining a lunch count.
9.
The teaching assistant will help the teacher maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the classroom.
10.
Ensure safety of all students in daily school activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $10.
