The Department of Marketing, MIS, and Entrepreneurship in the Brad D.
Smith Schools of Business under the Lewis College of Business at Marshall University is seeking an Instructor of Marketing for a nine-month appointment and a three-year term position.
The instructor will be responsible for teaching primarily marketing principles and strategy, and professional selling in the undergraduate and graduate levels beginning in fall 2024.
Teaching interests of the ideal candidate could encompass additional areas of the marketing discipline.
The instructor will also be responsible for overseeing the college’s Service Wire Transformative Sales and Service Excellence Center (the Sales Center).
This includes meeting with students and donors, training students for case competitions, and holding events such as sales networking day and pitch competitions.
The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.
g.
Community-Based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.
).
Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.

The ideal candidate will have earned a master’s degree in business or related discipline with a strong interest in engaged teaching, experiential learning, and outreach.
The individual should possess qualifications necessary to teach effectively across these curricular areas.
