*Role Title:* Maintenance Technician
*Role Purpose: *This position is accountable for: Providing support to the plant by means of repair, replacement, and/or renewal of equipment or components.
Any activity necessary within the scope of skills within the principal accountabilities for this position and those of General Maintenance position.
Completing assigned documentation, maintain cleanliness of maintenance shop and other work areas.
*Role Reports to: *Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor Designee, Production Supervisor, Facilities Manager
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Follow all health, safety and environmental practices and preventative measures.
* Follow rules and procedures.
* Electrical/Robotics - Resolve circuit level problems, install additional circuits and provide sketches or drawings of proposed changes.
Monitor PLC programs for troubleshooting machinery.
Maintain power distribution system (480 VAC and under) including troubleshooting, new installation, changing fuses, replacing bus duct and bus plugs.
Troubleshoot robotics and teach points as required
* Millwright -Move level, and verify readiness to run
* Hydraulics - Resolve system problems, recommend and install additional components as needed
* Machine Rebuilding - Assume responsibilities for assigned areas of a project and execute trade skills as required.
* Preventative Maintenance - Performs PM’s as assigned, complete and return all documentation.
Work with contractors to complete PM’s
* Trouble Shooting - Follow and document the basic guidelines for failure analysis.
Call, communicate with, follow recommendations of, and document activity from a service representative.
Component failure analysis, i.
e.
megger, wear pattern, contamination’s, etc.
Document all results on the work order.
* Reports on Maintenance Technician Work - Provide accurate reports of work performed on work order in appropriate maintenance software.
Regularly report to cover 100% of day.
* Drive forklift in a safe manner
* Complete Electronic Operator Lift Truck Functional Check on every shift for every forklift driven that shift unless already completed on shift.
* Change propane tanks as required for fork trucks.
* Charge fork truck batteries as required on electric fork truck.
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and perform them as scheduled.
* Participate in training as required.
* Clean during and end of shift.
* Maintain work area and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
* Complete records and forms as required and instructional documents.
* Perform duties at all times in a safe and efficient manner and report problems, irregularities and suggested corrective action immediately to supervisor.
* All other associated maintenance duties as assigned in accordance to the CBA.
*Formal qualifications required:*
Minimum score of 70% on knowledge (including both practical and written) test chosen by GKN Sinter Metals or completion of approved apprenticeship program
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Forklift License (This is obtained at GKN), valid articulated scissor lift license and Genie Boom.
Necessary eye and muscular coordination to perform job.
