PLANT ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Job Summary
The Plant Engineering Department manages capital projects and improvements at all (3) of OSCO s manufacturing plants (Portsmouth, New Boston & Jackson).
The Plant Engineering Technician will be an integral team member in the development of projects/services for the manufacturing plants and will follow through with implementation of work required for completion.
Responsibilities & Duties
Integrate ideas, process needs, and equipment into a generally accepted plan for a project.
Then provide cost estimates, justifications, and designs for the required systems and/or equipment.
When projects are approved and assigned, provide direction for drawings, quotations, and coordination with suppliers, contractors, and OSCO personnel for timely installation.
Assist in new equipment start-up, parts list development, and Maintenance direction documents.
Maintain Plant Engineering files and preparation of Engineering drawings (CAD files).
Performance of field work (inside manufacturing plant environment) such as measurements, selection of methods of fabrication, and collection of data for as-built drawings.
Generate and maintain contractor, supplier, service, and equipment builder relationships necessary for the effective execution of the job responsibilities.
Work with all OSCO personnel to anticipate future environmental/industry trends so that current projects will position processes and equipment to meet the Company s long-term goals.
Qualifications
Ability to use current CAD software (AutoCAD) and to field measure equipment, structures, etc.
to produce precise Engineering drawings.
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to clearly communicate with leadership, employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and willingness to grow and advance within the company.
Ability to work independently or cooperatively to deliver required results.
Possess an attention to detail - take ownership of projects/tasks and see them through completion.
Education
Minimum (2) year Engineering degree or equivalent experience
